severe sinus headache
Sinus headache and cough is now making it unbearable. Is it worth a trip to the emergency room on a Saturday?
I headache raging, no fever or vomiting and think it's related sinus. Have had it on and off for a week. My ears are popping and now I am coughing. My neck hurts and cough headache is unbearable. I can not function normally. It's Saturday and do not know if the ER is the right choice. My doctor on duty can not respond to all drugs. Help!
If you can type on a computer, then it does sound like it's bad enough to warrant a trip to the emergency. In the emergency room, you wait in a dimly lit room, high and very congested waiting for a long period and it will cost you a ton. You will not get priority treatment with a sore head, Unless you faint or seize, so that everyone who comes after you that looks or sounds worse than "headache" will be treated before obtaining until you give up or have some free time. I come from a family of people suffering from migraine headaches that go wrong if we just sleep all day at the other end where it proved to be a mild stroke … So I have some experience with what a wicked headache is, what is about to turn into a migraine attack is real and what's just a lot of head. How about a trip to a PrimaCare (one of these clinics in the chain that are open late and on weekends)? Looks like maybe you need a kind of anti-inflammatory Celebrex as a time-dose or even a cortisone injection if it is really bad. If I were you, I darken my Room (Cover the windows and turn off all lights in adjacent rooms), make it as quiet as possible and sleep off the headache as best you can. Sleep is the best treatment you can give yourself a shot when the wicked headaches.
