migraines causes

Constipated? Suffering from recurrent yeast infections? Or do you experience headaches, frequent sore that just will not away go? Why not visit an applied kinesiologist, who will perform a series of specialized muscle testing to find out what's wrong with you? If you are really lucky, he will use this type of diagnostic test specialist to treat your asthma and hay fever and lower stress levels in your same time. Or will they?
Applied kinesiology or AK, combines traditional Chinese medicine with Western knowledge newfangled on the body and its functions in an attempt restore the balance "energy" in the body and restore harmony and peace. When this energy is out of alignment, a variety of health problems can occur. Thus AK seeks to restore balance to ensure a better all around health, both mental than physical.
Like many so-called natural therapies, AK is supposed to be able to treat a long list of ailments, ranging from chronic headaches, candida to constipation. To do this, it relies on a complex type of muscle testing "to identify" problem areas in the body and then processes them. The idea is that the organ dysfunction may manifest as muscle weakness, making it easy for a practitioner to diagnose AK any type of disease simply through muscle-testing.
But while proponents say it is miraculous, skeptics say it's more excitement that fab, and that AK is nothing more than a system of "pseudo-science" that does nothing – wait for it – deplete your pocket money.
Origins of Applied Kinesiology
Applied kinesiology began way back in 1964 when Dr. George J. Goodheart, Jr., DC, chiropractor in Michigan, decided that the muscles are weak could be used as a diagnostic tool complete and reliable to verify the health of a person.
In particular, Dr. Goodheart believed that weaknesses in the spine of a individual could signal health problems throughout the body. With these specific weaknesses in mind, he began to develop a system muscle from testing his "discovery" so that it can accurately identify health problems and focus its time to treat them.
The premise is simple: muscles specific weaknesses correspond to parts of the body, a theory similar to the basis of acupuncture or reflexology. Using muscle testing, a diagnosis can be easily achieved and health problems can be solved easily, using a variety of tools such as joint manipulation, dietary advice and nutrition, and even "thought therapy," or to think only good thoughts.
AK, which should not be confused with the classical kinesiology, which focuses on the study of muscles and movement in the body, quickly became popular among the chiropractic community. He still enjoys Permission granted now widespread, despite the fact its effectiveness has never been fully proven scientifically.
In fact, AK is so popular that some estimates say that lightly more than one third of the chiropractors now employ methods of Dr. Goodheart's. Most practitioners are not only chiropractors, however. They also include nutritionists, physicians, massage therapists and, of course, AK distributors for specific products.
How It Works
If you decide to visit an applied kinesiologist, your session will probably last about an hour and consist of elements following:
Fab or Fad?
No actual scientific studies have been conducted to prove the effectiveness AK, although many practitioners have made statements to the contrary. A real danger is that people choose AK on conventional medicine. For example, DC systems, based in Pueblo, Colorado, distributes documents AK, including this interesting tidbit (thank you to doctors Corner Internet Group, Inc.):
"When an infection develops, ask your child examined by your doctor using applied kinesiology. It can evaluate models energy and usually find the cause of the infection developed in the first place. By correcting the energy patterns in the body and giving particular attention to nutritional supplements and dietary management, infection with your child (using natural health care) does develops to be adequately supported in most cases. "
According to Stephen Barrett, MD, in his article "Stay Away from kinesiology applied "on its Web site Quackwatch, AK is nothing but a bunch of phony Baloney." concepts of applied kinesiology does not conform to scientific facts about the causes or treatment of disease. Controlled studies have found no difference between the results with the test substances and with placebos, "he writes.
"The differences from one test to another may be due to suggestion, distraction, variations in the amount of force or leverage involved, and / or muscle fatigue. If you encounter a practitioner who relies on AK muscle-testing diagnostic head for the nearest exit. "Enough said.
